I formerly lived in a house with two friends both of which moved to England the same day. I took this opportunity to create a series based on the seven days before their move, so starting on February 21st-28th 2008, I took a portrait a day. The relevance of the number seven has to do with the relationship to the seven days of creation in which, on the seventh day, God rested. This series ends on a contrary note as the last picture was taken just hours before they left on their lengthy journey literally and figuratively, as such there is an obvious sense of unrest and discomfort. I'd like it to be noted that the very last picture was within the final three minutes of my seeing them for the following three months. |
