The Disconnection of Landscape and Person

Landscape and people, although both natural realities, are inherently disconnected. Landscape’s relational scale typically overpowers humans and sort of lives in a contrary world of slow and static evolutions. Conversely people are in a constant state of mobility thus creating a tension within the landscape as they cannot exist without it yet can not entirely interact with it as intimately as with each other. This work is attempting to demonstrate the disconnection that is present. By capturing what’s happening rather than staging a sort of construction it makes my observation that much more prevelant; my hope is that the viewer will leave the work with an altered mindset toward observation, perhaps applying it to their own perception.
